Getting your message on screen
For local department screens, contact your department secretary. For screens outside your department, including the CTID social space and Pembroke House, or if you are unsure who to contact, email internalcomms@lstmed.ac.uk.
Top tips for creating digital screens
- Keep it brief. Readers often only have a few seconds to look at a screen as they walk past, so make it as quick as possible for them to understand your message.
- Make it clear and easy to understand. Many of our screens are visible to a range of audiences (academic staff, professional services staff, students, visitors), so keep the message simple enough for all of them.
- Start with a short heading that summarises your message and helps it catch the attention of passers-by.
- Then add two to three short bullets with more detail: what do you want people to know, think and do after seeing your screen? If you need them to take action, such as booking a place on an event, tell them clearly what to do and how.
- Add a QR code if you need to share more detailed information.
- Add a relevant image to catch the eye and provide more information. Make sure it is clear, good quality, and that you have permission to use it.
- If you are sharing photos, include a heading or caption that explains what the image shows: when and where it was taken, what event or study it relates to, and who is featured.
